Patna: In more trouble for the BJP in Bihar, another party lawmaker from the state has protested against distribution of tickets for the upcoming polls.
“Rules and guidelines should be same for everyone,” said Chedi Paswan, an MP from Sasaram. He says he is dissatisfied with the reason given to him by the party leadership while turning down his request for a ticket for his son. “I was told that no ticket will be given to children of MPs. But the party decided to field the sons of Ashwani Choubey from Bhagalpur and Dr CP Thakur from Brahampur,” he added.
Yesterday, former Home Secretary RK Singh had alleged that money has changed hands for tickets.
“They are giving tickets to criminals. How will they give a clean government? This is injustice to the people of Bihar. Some people have sold tickets to criminals. Many BJP workers are angry over seat distribution,” he had said.
Talking to NDTV today, Mr Singh remained defiant and said he wanted the party to withdraw tickets given to those criminal background or those charge-sheeted in criminal cases.
Ravi Paswan, son of three-time MP Chedi Paswan, joined the Samajwadi Party a few days ago. He will contest from Chenari assembly seat.
